“Commission on Urban Development utilizing ICT and Global Diffusion: Hokkaido Regional Commission” to be held
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has held “Commission on Urban Development utilizing ICT and Global Diffusion” from December 2011. The second meeting of the regional commission will be held in Hokkaido where opinions are exchanged with parties concerned of regional development in order to reflect their comments in considerations at the Commission.
1.Background
The MIC has held “Commission on Urban Development utilizing ICT and Global Diffusion” convened by the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications from December 2012 in order to consider the state of new urban development utilizing ICT, measures for promotion toward its realization and measures for global diffusion of new urban development models utilizing ICT with a view to develop new cities utilizing ICT.
It is planned that the regional commission will be held in about five places nationwide to reflect comments of parties concerned of urban development such as local residents, local business communities and local public bodies etc. that play an important role in regional urban development in considerations at the Commission through opinion exchanges with them.
The MIC has decided to hold the second meeting of the regional commission in Hokkaido and it is officially announced herein.
