Receipt of Applications for Authorization of Establishment Plans for Specified Base Stations for Diffusion of 3.9G Mobile Communications Systems

1.Outline

  On April 11, 2012, the MIC submitted an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chairman: Tadaaki Maeda, Adviser to Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.) concerning a guideline plan for establishment of specified base stations using the 700MHz band (bulletin plan for partial revision of guidelines for establishment of specified base stations for diffusion of 3.9G mobile communications systems), and a report stating its approval of the original plans was received. Therefore, on April 17, 2012, institutional improvement was carried out for the enactment of establishment of said guidelines.
  In addition, based on the provision of Article 27-13, Paragraph 3 of the Radio Act (Act No. 131 of 1950), with the enactment of these guidelines, the MIC set a period for the receipt of applications for authorization of establishment plans for specified base stations for diffusion of 3.9G mobile communications systems (specified base stations using frequencies between 773HHz and 803MHz), and these applications will be accepted as outlined below.
 

2.Period for applications

  From 08:30 on April 17 (Tue), 2012 to 17:15 on May 25 (Fri), 2012
   *Applications sent by mail must arrive in that period
 

3.Where to submit applications

  Applications should be submitted to this office (Telecommunications Bureau) of the MIC, or Regional Bureau of Telecommunications or the Okinawa Office of Telecommunications. For further details, please inquire via the contact address provided below.
 

4.Guidelines for application

  Guidelines for application (manual) compiling description methods and reference documents, etc. relating to written applications concerning establishment plans will be officially announced on the radio use website “portal site for reallocation of 700/900MHz frequency bands” (http://www.tele.soumu.go.jp/j/ref/portal/).
