Results of Appeal for Opinions pertaining to Draft Notice for Partial Revision of Subject Establishing Test Procedures for Characteristic Tests

Addition of test procedures, etc. for radiolocations, meteorological aids stations, specified low-power devices for mobile detection sensors, 26GHz-band UWB radars, and land mobile stations, etc. for 200MHz-band mobile radiocommunication
  From March 9 to April 9, 2012, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) held an appeal for opinions on Draft Notice for Partial Revision of the MIC Notice No.88 of 2004 (subject establishing test procedures for characteristic tests) and no opinion was submitted. The MIC will swiftly revise the notice based on the results of the appeal for opinions.

1.Background of revision

  As the Ordinance Regulating Radio Equipment (Radio Regulatory Commission Rules No. 18 of 1950), Ordinance Concerning Technical Regulations Conformity Certification of Specified Radio Equipment (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 37 of 1981, hereinafter referred to as the Certification Regulations), etc. have been revised and radiolocations, meteorological aids stations, specified low-power devices for mobile detection sensors, 26GHz-band UWB radars, land mobile stations, etc. for 200HMz-band mobile radiocommunication, etc. have been introduced, the notice will be partially revised based on the provision of Item 1-1(3) of the Appended Table No.1 of the Certification Regulations.
 

2.Outline of draft public notice

  The notice will be revised, along with the amendment of test procedures pertaining to items (1) to (3) below and the new addition of test procedures for characteristic tests pertaining to items (4) and (5).

  (1) Radiolocations       
    [Test Procedure for Radio Equipment provided for in Appended Table No. 11 of the Certification Regulations Article 2, Paragraph 1, item 2]
  (2) Meteorological aids stations (limited to radiosondes and meteorological radio robots)          
    [Test Procedure for Radio Equipment provided for in Appended Table No. 14 of the Certification Regulations Article 2, Paragraph 1, item 3-2]
  (3) Specified low-power devices for mobile detection sensors          
    [Test Procedure for Radio Equipment provided for in Appended Tables No.16 and No. 22 of Public Notice of MPT No. 42 of 1989, Paragraph 13]
  (4) 26GHz-band UWB radars          
    [Test Procedure for Radio Equipment provided for in Appended Table No. 81 of the Certification Regulations Article 2, Paragraph 1, item 47-2]
  (5) Land mobile stations, etc. for 200MHz-band mobile radiocommunication    
    [Test Procedure for Radio Equipment provided for in Annexed Table No. 82 of the Certification Regulations Article 2, Paragraph 1, items 61 and 62]
 

3.Results of appeal for opinion

  From March 9 to April 9, 2012, an appeal for opinions was held concerning the draft notice for partial revision of the notice. No opinion was submitted in response to the appeal for opinions.
 

4.Future plan

  The MIC will swiftly revise the notice based on the results of the appeal for opinions.
