Appeal for Opinions on the MIC’s Views on NHK’s Application for Authorization of “Business to Provide the Public with Live Relay Videos of Some Sports pertaining to the London Olympic Games thorough the Internet”

1.Background

  On April 24, 2012, NHK made an application for authorization of a “business to provide the public with live relay videos of some sports pertaining to the London Olympic Games through the Internet pursuant to the provision of Article 20, Paragraph 10 of the Broadcast Act (Act No.132 of 1950) as a business of Article 20, Paragraph 2, Item (viii). The MIC has compliled the present views on this application for authorization and will hold an appeal for your opinions on these views.

  May 3 (Thu), 2012 to 17:00 on June 1 (Fri), 2012

  The content of this appeal for opinions will be posted on the MIC website and the e-government portal (e-Gov) and also distributed at counters of contact.
