Establishment of new relay station for terrestrial digital television broadcasting in Tochigi Prefecture
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled a draft partial change of the Plan for the Available Frequencies Allocated for Core Broadcasting (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Public Notice No.661 of 1988) related to terrestrial digital television broadcasting.
The MIC will hold an appeal for opinions on this draft change from May 12 (Sat) to June 11 (Mon), 2012.
1.Major content
(1)Background
Currently, there are areas where the reception of terrestrial digital television broadcasting is poor in Nasu Town, Nasushiobara City and Ohtawara City in the north of Tochigi Prefecture.
The Plan for the Available Frequencies Allocated for Core Broadcasting will be partially changed to establish a relay station for terrestrial digital television broadcasting in a way that the good reception of terrestrial television broadcasting becomes possible permanently in those areas.

As for Tochigi Prefecture, “Nasu” is added to the subject areas of terrestrial digital television broadcasting of NHK and core broadcasting operators.
