
Authorization for Change of Interconnection Tariff concerning Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation
Partial abolition of dedicated services
On May 18, 2012, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has authorized the change of the interconnection tariff concerning category I designated telecommunications facilities applied by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation.
1.Background
This case is to consolidate the provisions necessary for the interconnection tariff to abolish each article with each function described below for which the acceptance of new use has already been suspended, because the number of its subscriptions has become 0 there is no interconnection carrier which uses said article.
A. Among transmission functions for establishing communication lines related to services dedicated to the general public,
(1) Those which transmit using the 48kHz frequency band
(2) Those which enable code transmission at 200bit/s
B. Among transmission functions for establishing communications lines related to high-speed digital transmission, those related to Y interface

This case is based on the proviso of Article 169 of the Telecommunications Business Act (Act No.86 of 1984), etc. and was approved as a minor matter which does not require an inquiry to the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council.
