Official Announcement of Notification Content Concerning Utilization Business of West Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation

  West Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (President: Shinichi Otake) (hereinafter “NTT West”) has notified an utilization business provided for in Article 2, Paragraph 5 of the Act Concerning Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, Etc. (Act No.85 of 1984, hereinafter the “NTT Act”) and its content is officially announced herein.

1.Background

  When NTT West intends to conduct any utilization business, it shall notify the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of matters prescribed by Ministerial Ordinance of MIC in advance pursuant to the provision of Article 2, Paragraph 5 of the NTT Act.
  Based on this provision, NTT West has submitted a written notification of matters prescribed in Article 2-2 of the Rules for Enforcement of the Act Concerning Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, Etc. (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 23 of 1985, hereinafter the “Rules for Enforcement of the NTT Act”) on May 21, 2012, and the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications has received it.
  It is officially announced herein today based on the provision of Article 2-3 of the Rules for Enforcement of the NTT Act.
 

2.Date of commencement of business

  NTT West has set the commencement date of business as July 17 (Tue), 2012 in the written notification.
 

3.Future plans

  The content of a confirmation made by the MIC concerning the notified business will be posted in the portal site of telecommunication competition policy (http://www.soumu.go.jp/joho_tsusin/eidsystem/competition.html)
