Results of Appeal for Opinions for Partial Revision of Rules for Regulations for Procedure for Obtaining a Radio Station License and Radio Act-related Examintion Standards

1.Outline of revision

  (1) A person who intends to establish a specified base station of mobile radio communication systems using the 700MHz band needs to implement promotion measures for completion. Therefore, the inspection standards for licenses in that case will be improved.
  (2) In addition, the inspection standards for licenses will be revised, because the use of some PHS frequencies (frequencies between 1915.7MHz and 1919.6MHz) has expired by the end of May, 2012 and 2GHz-band frequencies of IMT-2000 whose use has been postponed until now to avoid interference with these frequencies may be used.
 

2.Result of appeal for opinions

  One opinion was submitted in response to the appeal for opinions.
 

3.Future plans

  Based on the result of the appeal for opinions, the MIC will revise as described in the draft by July 25, 2012 for the part related to Outline of Revision (1) and by June 1, 2012 for the part related to Outline of Revision (2).
