“Medical ICT Symposium: Future of Local Communities Created by Medical ICT” to be Held
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold “Medical ICT Symposium: Future of Local Communities Created by Medical ICT” on June 21 (Thu), 2012 at Mita Conference Hall.
1.Purpose
Japan has a rapidly aging population. Therefore, there is an increased need for efforts for constructing the medical delivery system where local residents can live without fear and for improving the quality and efficiency of medical services to respond to issues faced by community healthcare. In addition, the importance of ICT (information and communication technology) has risen in the medical field based on the lessons learnt from the Great East Japan Earthquake. The achievements of cases of utilizing ICT in the medical field which have been implemented as MIC’s projects will be introduced and issues and prospects of ICT used in community healthcare will be discussed based on those projects.
