Results of Public Appeal for Proposals related to R&D for Expansion of Radio Frequency Resources in FY2012

  The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) implemented external evaluations on proposals related to R&D for expansion of radio frequency resources in FY2012 and adopted each R&D thesis based on their results.

1.Background of public appeal

  R&D for expansion of radio frequency resources is implemented using the source of radio spectrum usage fee. R&D theses contributing to effective use of radio spectrum are publicly solicited and adopted and they are entrusted to research institutions such as private companies and universities.
  Among R&D for expansion of radio frequency resources to be newly implemented from FY2012, a public appeal for proposals was held concerning R&D thesis listed in Attachment from April 7 to May 7, 2012, and they have been adopted based on the results of the external evaluations.
 

2.Results of adoption

  As for the examination for proposals applied, the two-step evaluations of evaluations (peer review) by several evaluators with professional knowledge and comprehensive evaluations by the Meeting for Evaluation on R&D by Radio Spectrum Usage Fee” consisting of experts and intellectuals were implemented to enhance transparency and effectiveness, and then the proposals were adopted based on their results.
