
First Designation of Private Company as Designated Calibration Organization
Designation of designated calibration organization which calibrates measuring equipment, etc. used for inspection of radio equipment
On July 11, 2012, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) received an application for designated calibration organization from Agilent Technologies Co., Ltd. (President: Masaaki Umeshima), and submitted an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council. In response to the inquiry, the MIC received a report stating its approval of the designation so that it decided to designate the company.
This designation is the first entry of private company as a designated calibration organization and currently there are two designated calibration organizations.
1.Designated calibration organizations
Persons who test or inspect radio equipment, etc. (registered test business operators) and persons who certify specified radio equipment (registered certifying authorities) shall use calibrated measuring equipment, etc. The designated calibration organizations are designated by the Minster for Internal Affairs and Communications and conduct calibration businesses of measuring equipment, etc. used by registered test business operators, etc. as provided by the Radio Act (Act No.131 of 1950).
