Official Announcement of “2011 Assessment of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field”

1.Background

  The MIC has implemented the FY2011 Competition Assessment based on the “Basic Guidelines for Assessment of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field” and the “Operational Items in 2011 concerning Assessment of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field” and created the “2011 Draft Assessment of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field” based on advice from the members of the “Competition Assessment Advisory Board” held in July 11, 2012. An appeal for opinions was held from July 18 to August 16, 2012, in responses to which nine opinions were submitted. “The 2011 Assessment of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field” has now been decided based on these opinions.
 

2.Guidelines for public appeal for opinions

  Appendix 1, Appendix 2 and Annex will be distributed for reading at the Telecommunications Policy Division, Telecommunications Business Department, Telecommunications Bureau, the MIC (Central Government Building No. 2, 10F) from September 7, 2012, and posted in the column of “press release” on the MIC website (http://www.soumu.go.jp) and the column of “public comments” on the e-government portal (e-Gov) (http://www.e-gov.go.jp).
