Approval of Business Restructuring Plans based on the Act on Special Measures for Industrial Revitalization and Innovation of Industrial Activities

  On September 12, 2012, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) approved the “business restructuring plans” applied by Nippon Television Network Corporation (Representative Director, President: Yoshio Okubo), BS Nippon Corporation (Representative Director, President: Koichi Akaza), and CS Nippon Corporation (Representative Director, President: Akihiko Mutai), based on the provision of Article 5 of the Act on Special Measures for Industrial Revitalization and Innovation of Industrial Activities (Act No. 131 of 1999).

1.Outline of “business reconstruction plans”

  Nippon Television Network Corporation, BS Nippon Corporation and CS Nippon Corporation (hereinafter, “the applicants”) have decided to reorganize their business group and set Nippon Television Holdings, Inc as a certified broadcasting holding company as of October 1, 2012 with a view to improving their business efficiency.
  The applicants hope to have their tax rates for registration (registration and license tax) reduced as provided for in Article 80, Paragraph 1, Item (iii) of the Act on Special Measures Concerning Taxation (Act No. 26 of 1957), when the capital of Nippon Television Network Corporation is increased, after obtaining an approval according to the Act on Special Measures for Industrial Revitalization and Innovation of Industrial Activities.
 

2.Period for implementation of business restructuring

  Commencement: October 2012
  Completion: September 2015
