
Status of Revenues and Expenses of Private Broadcasters in FY2011
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled the state of revenues and expenses of private broadcasters in FY2011, and it is officially announced herein.
An outline of the state of revenues and expenses in FY2011 is as follows.
- Terrestrial core broadcasters
In comparison with the preceding fiscal year, terrestrial core broadcasters marked a decrease in “sales,” “cost of sales” and “selling and general administrative costs,” while recorded an increase in “operating profit or loss,” “ordinary profit or loss” and “profit or loss for this term.”
- Satellite broadcasters
In comparison with the preceding fiscal year, the whole satellite broadcasting business marked an increase in both “operating revenues” and “operating expenses” and as a result, recorded an increase in “operating profit or loss.”
- Cable television broadcasters
In comparison with the preceding fiscal year, the whole cable television business marked a decrease in both “operating revenues” and “operating expenses” and as a result, showed a decrease in “operating profit or loss.”
