On September 25, 2012, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) received a report from the Information and Communications Council (Acting Chairman: Masao Sakauchi, Director General of the National Institute of Informatics) concerning the “State of Calculation of Connecting Charges in FY2013 and Beyond based on the Long-Run Incremental Cost Model (Inquiry No.1217 of April 17, 2012).
1.Background, etc.
This report was submitted based on the results of investigations and deliberations conducted by the Telecommunications Business Policy Committee and the Interconnection Policy Subcommittee and of the public appeal for opinions implemented by the Information and Communications Council from July 26 to August 31, 2012, after an inquiry concerning the “State of Calculation of Connection Charges in FY2013 and Beyond based on the Long-Run Incremental Cost Model” was submitted to the Council on April 17, 2012.
2.Future plans
The MIC will take necessary measures such as revision of related ministerial ordinances based on this report.
