Official Announcement of Results of Repeat Appeal for Opinions on Operation of the Fair Competition Review System for Promoting Broadband Dissemination (FY2012)
From July 7 to August 8, 2012, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) held an appeal for opinions before conducting verification based on the fair competition review system for promoting broadband dissemination in this fiscal year. In addition, a repeat appeal for opinions on the opinions submitted was held from August 25 to September 26, 2012. In response, thirteen opinions were submitted, and they are officially announced herein.
1.Objective
The MIC has decided to operate the “fair competition review system for promoting broadband dissemination” from this fiscal year in order to comprehensively verify the degree of accomplishment of indexes related to broadband dissemination and the state of compliance with the fair competition requirements based on the “guidelines for operation of the fair competition review system for promoting broadband dissemination (formulated and officially announced in May 2012, hereinafter “guidelines”).”
From July 7 to August 8, 2012, the MIC held an appeal for opinions on the matters subject to “3. Verification concerning the state of compliance with the regulations of NTT East, NTT West, etc.” in the guidelines before conducting verification on the state of compliance with the regulations of NTT East, NTT West, etc. among the verification based on the review system in this fiscal year. In addition, a repeat appeal for opinions on the opinions submitted was held from August 25to September 26, 2012.
As a result, thirteen opinions were submitted and they are officially announced herein.
2.Opinions submitted
The repeat opinions submitted will be posted in the column of “press release” on the MIC website (http://www.soumu.go.jp) and the column of “public comments” on the e-government portal (e-Gov) (http://www.e-gov.go.jp) and also distributed at counters of contact.
3.Future plans
The MIC will verify the state of compliance with the regulations of NTT East, NTT West, etc. with reference to opinions and repeat opinions submitted, and swiftly compile a draft verification result. Then, the MIC will hold an appeal for opinions on said draft verification result.
