
Official Announcement of “Action Plan for Spectrum Reallocation” (Revised Version of October 2012)”
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) formulated the “Action Plan for Spectrum Reallocation (revised version of October 2012)” with a view to smoothly and steadily implement the reallocation of frequencies. Before this revised version was formulated, an appeal for opinions on this draft action plan had been held from August 28 to September 26, 2012. The opinions submitted and MIC’s views thereon are officially announced herein.
1.Background and purpose
The MIC has formulated the “Action Plan for Spectrum Reallocation” since FY2004 and revised and officially announced it every fiscal year with a view to show specific efforts for smoothly and steadily following up a specific reallocation of frequencies based on the assessment results of the Surveys on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage.
The MIC will review the “Action Plan for Spectrum Reallocation (revised version of September 2011)” based on the assessment results (July 2012) of the FY2011 Surveys on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage (targeting bandwidth lower than 770MHz), results of appeal for opinions, etc.
2.Content of review
The “Action Plan for Spectrum Reallocation (revised version of October 2012)” was formulated.
3.Future plans
The MIC will surely implement specific efforts for each frequency classification.
The Action Plan for Spectrum Reallocation will be reviewed based on the assessment results of the Surveys on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage conducted every fiscal year, etc.
