Results of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Partial Revisions of Notices, etc. related to the Ordinance Concerning Terminal Facilities Etc.

1.Background and outline of revision

  As the switching over (reallocation of frequencies) from 2G mobile radio communication systems to 3G mobile radio communication systems (including 3.5G and 3.9G) had been completed by July 24, 2012 in the context of expanded dissemination of portable radio communications, the MIC held an appeal for opinions on draft institutional improvement to delete the provisions for 2G mobile radio communication systems, etc. Its results were officially announced on September 28, 2012. In line with this, the provisions for the following notices related to the Ordinance Concerning Terminal Facilities, Etc. will be improved.

  (2) Draft Notice for Partial Revision of the Subject Stipulating Mobil Phone Terminals, etc. Remarkably Unreasonable to be Prescribed Pursuant to the Ordinance Concerning Terminal Facilities Etc. and their Conditions (Notice of MPT No. 610 of 1993)
  (3) Draft Notice for Partial Revision of the Subject Stipulating Conditions for Timing of Transmission, etc. of Mobile Phone Terminals, etc. based on the Provisions of the Ordinance Concerning Terminal Facilities Etc. (Notice of MPT No. 611 of 1993)
  (4) Draft Notice for Partial Revision of the Subject Stipulating Terminal Facilities that Are not Allowed to Reject Requests for Connection from Users among Those Using Radio Waves (Notice of MPT No. 72 of 1994)
  (5) Draft Notice for Partial Revision of the Subject Stipulating Conditions for Identification Codes, etc. based on the Provisions of the Ordinance Concerning Terminal Facilities Etc. (Notice of MPT No. 424 of 1994)
  (6) Draft Notice for Partial Revision of the Subject Stipulating Test Methods on Technical Conditions Compliance Approval of Terminal Equipment, etc. (Notice of MIC No. 99 of 2004)
  (7) Draft Notice for Partial Revision of the Subject Stipulating Electric Conditions, etc. for Internet Protocol Phone Terminals and Terminals of Dedicated Communication Line Facilities (Notice of MIC No.87 of 2011)
 

2.Results of appeal for opinions

  The appeal for opinions on the draft revision of notices was held from September 1 to October 1, 2012, in response to which no opinion was submitted.
 

3.Future plans

  The MIC will swiftly improve the provisions based on the result of the appeal for opinions.
