Appeal for Opinions on “Draft Implementation Items for 2012 concerning Evaluation of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field

1.Outline

  The MIC has created the draft “Implementation Items for 2012 concerning Evaluation of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field” (hereinafter, “Implementation Items 2012”), for prescribing details, etc. of specific implementation processes with regard to the “Strategic Evaluation”, etc. focusing on target areas, methods and specific themes, before the competition evaluation in FY2012 is carried out based on the “Basic Guidelines for Evaluation of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field”, which set out the basic guidelines for evaluation of state of competition in the telecommunications business field (hereinafter “competition evaluation”). Therefore, an appeal for opinions on this draft implementation items will be held.

  (Deadline for submission of opinions: November 22 (Thu), 2012, must arrive by 5:00PM)
  (Submissions by mail must also arrive by this date)

  The draft will be posted from October 23, 2012, in the column of “press release” on the MIC website (http://www.soumu.go.jp) and the column of “public comments” on the e-government portal (e-Gov) (http://www.e-gov.go.jp) and also distributed for reading at the Telecommunications Policy Division, Telecommunications Bureau, MIC .
 

3.Future plans

  The MIC will confirm the content of the Implementation Items for 2012 based on results of the appeal for opinions, etc. and carry out the competition evaluation in FY2012 based on that content.
