Official Announcement of Results of Survey on Use of 1.7GHz-band Mobile Radio Communication System

  As the Action Plan for Spectrum Reallocation by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) provides that the frequency bands of 5MHz bandwidth x 2 (1744.9~1749.9MHz/1839.9~1844.9MHz) shall be newly ensured with respect to the 1.7GHz band, a survey was conducted from September 28 to October 11, 2012 in order to grasp the needs for said frequency band. Its results are officially announced herein.

1.Submitters

  The following three parties responded to the survey.
  eAccess Ltd.
  NTT Docomo, Inc.
  KDDI Corporation and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company
 

2.Future plans

  The MIC will conduct similar surveys on other frequency bands based on the Action Plan for Spectrum Reallocation. The results of this survey will be used as reference to deliberate on allocation of frequencies in addition to results of future surveys.
