Approval of Change of Interconnection Tariff Relating to Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities of NTT East and NTT West

1.Background

  PHS carriers that currently fall under “utilization-type PHS carriers* will not fall under it anymore due to the network change. On the other hand, said PHS carriers will receive the provision of functions using PHS base station lines for the time being from NTT East and NTT West (hereinafter “NTT East & West”) after the network change. In response to this, provisions necessary for the interconnection tariff are improved so that the function of PHS base station lines prescribed for “utilization-type PHS carriers” in the interconnection tariff can be applied to “PHS carriers.”
  *PHS carriers that utilize telecommunications facilities of NTT East & West such as PHS connection equipment and PHS network control stations and their functions

  This case is based on the proviso of Article 169 of the Telecommunications Business Act (Act No. 86 of 1984), etc. and was approved as a minor matter which does not require an inquiry to the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council.
