Results of Repeat Appeal for Opinions on Draft Partial Revision of Notice related to Designation of Category II Designated Telecommunications Facilities based on the Provision of Article 34, Paragraph 1 of the Telecommunications Business Act
From September 5 (Wed) to October 4 (Thu), the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council held an appeal for opinions on the “designation of category II designated telecommunications facilities based on the provision of Article 34, Paragraph 1 of the Telecommunications Business Act” as of September 4 (Tue), 2012, as inquired from the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications. In addition, a repeat appeal for opinions on opinions submitted was held from October 11 (Thu) to October 24 (Wed), 2012. In response to this, 17 repeat opinions were submitted, and they are officially announced herein.
1.Outline
The case is to partially revise the related notice in order to designate part of telecommunications facilities established by Softbank Mobile Corp. as category II designated telecommunications facilities based on the provision of Article 34, Paragraph 1 of the Telecommunications Business Act.
An appeal for opinions was held from September 5 (Wed) to October 4 (Thu), 2012, as a reference to deliberations on this draft notice.
In addition, a repeat appeal for opinions on opinions submitted was held from October 11 (Thu) to October 24 (Wed), 2012. In response to the repeat appeal for opinions, 17 opinions were submitted. They are officially announced herein.
2.Opinions submitted
The repeat opinions submitted will be posted in the column of “press release” on the MIC website (http://www.soumu.go.jp) and the column of “public comments” on the e-government portal (e-Gov) (http://www.e-gov.go.jp) and also distributed for reading at the General Affairs Division, Information and Communications Bureau, MIC.
3.Future plans
The MIC will make investigations and deliberations on this draft notice based on the opinions and repeat opinions submitted, and submit a report to the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications.
