Results of Appeal for Opinions on Approval of Amount of Grants and Support Methods and Approval of Amount of Contributions and Collection Methods based on Universal Service System
The Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council held an appeal for opinions on an “approval of the amount of grants and support methods based on the provision of Article 109, Paragraph 1 of the Telecommunications Business Act (Act No. 86 of 1984, hereinafter “Act”) and an approval of the amount of contributions and collection methods based on the provision of Article 110, Paragraph 2 of said Act” from October 3 (Wed) to November 1 (Thu), 2012. As a result, a total of four opinions were submitted.
The Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council will make investigations and deliberations based on the opinions submitted and submit a report to the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications.
1.Background, etc.
In response to an inquiry from the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications on October 2 (Tue), 2012, the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council held the appeal for opinions on an approval of the amount of grants and support methods based on the provision of Article 109, Paragraph 1 of the Act and an approval of the amount of contributions and collection methods based on the provision of Article 110, Paragraph 2 of the Act by November 1 (Thu), 2012.
2.Opinions submitted
The content of the opinions will be posted in the column of “press release” on the MIC website (http://www.soumu.go.jp) and the column of “public comments” on the e-government portal (e-Gov) (http://www.e-gov.go.jp) and also distributed at the General Affairs Division, Information and Communications Bureau, MIC
3.Future plans
Investigations and deliberations will be made based on the opinions submitted and a report will be submitted to the Minster for Internal Affairs and Communications.
