
“Research Society for Survey on Broadcasting Policy” to be held
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold “Research Society for Survey on Broadcasting Policy” for the purpose of verifying the state of enforcement of the Act for Partial Revision of the Broadcast Act (Act No. 136 of 2007) (hereinafter referred to as “Revision of the Broadcast Act) and the changes in economic and social situations, and deliberating on the state of broadcasting policy in accordance with the time.
1.Purpose
The Supplementary Provisions of the Revised Broadcast Act 2007 require some of revised items to be deliberated five years after the enforcement for making necessary revisions. Therefore, the Research Society for Survey on Broadcasting Policy aims to verify the state of enforcement of the Revised Broadcast Act 2007 and the changes in economic and social situations, and deliberate on the state of broadcasting policy in accordance with the time.
2.Major points to be deliberated
1. Issues related to the following systems to be deliberated as required by the Revised Broadcast Act
a. International broadcasting
b. Accredited broadcasting holding company system
c. Others
2. Other various issues related to broadcasting policy
3.Schedule
The first meeting will be held on November 21 (Wed), 2012, and discussions will be held for about six months.
