Results of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Creation, etc. of Frequency Assignment Plan and Report from the Radio Regulatory Council
Creation based on deliberation results at the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-12) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) 2012
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) held an appeal for opinions on a draft creation of the Frequency Assignment Plan and a draft revision of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act from October 4 (Thu) to November 2 (Fri), 2012. In response to this, eleven opinions were submitted.
An inquiry on this draft creation was submitted to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chairman: Tadaaki Maeda, Advisor to Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.) on November 14, 2012. In response to this inquiry, a report stating its approval for the original plan was received.
1.Outline
From January 23 to February 17, 2012, the 2012 ITU World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-12) was held in Switzerland (Geneva). Based on the deliberation results at the Conference, the partial revision of the Radio Regulations provided for in the ITU Constitution and the ITU Convention will come into force on January 1, 2013.
The Frequency Assignment Plan that prescribes the allocation of frequencies in Japan needs to be in compliance with the Radio Regulations. Therefore, the Frequency Assignment Plan will be newly created and the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act will be revised partially in line with the entry into force of partial revision of the Radio Regulations. The current Frequency Assignment Plan (Notice of MIC No.714 of 2008) will be abolished.
2.Report from the Radio Regulatory Council
As of November 14, 2012, the inquiry on the draft creation of the Frequency Assignment Plan was submitted to the Radio Regulatory Council. In response to this inquiry, a report stating its approval for the original plan was received.
3.Future plans
Based on the opinions submitted and the report from the Radio Regulatory Council in response to the inquiry to the said Council, the Frequency Assignment Plan will be created.
