Results of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Ministerial Ordinance for Partial Revision of Ministerial Ordinance for the Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage and Report from the Radio Regulatory Council
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) held an appeal for opinions on a draft ministerial ordinance for partial revision of the ministerial ordinance for the survey on actual radio spectrum usage from September 15 to October 15, 2012, in response to which four opinions were submitted.
An inquiry on matters to be inquired with regard to the said draft ministerial ordinance was submitted to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chairman: Tadaaki Maeda, Advisor to Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.) on November 14, 2012. In response to this inquiry, a report stating its approval for the original plan was received.
1.Outline
The MIC has divided all frequency ranges into three classifications and implemented this survey on each frequency range roughly on a 3-year cycle based on the provision of Article 26-2 of the Radio Act since FY2003. This revision is to review the classifications of frequency ranges from a viewpoint of supervision and management of radio waves accompanied by the reallocation of 700MHz-band frequencies related to the termination of analogue television broadcasting.
An appeal for opinions on the draft ministerial ordinance for partial revision of the Ministerial Ordinance for the Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage was held from September 15 to October 15, 2012.
2.Report from the Radio Regulatory Council
On November 14, 2012, an inquiry on the draft ministerial ordinance for partial revision of the Ministerial Ordinance for the Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage, etc. was submitted to the Radio Regulatory Council. In response to this inquiry, a report stating its approval for the original plan was received.
3.Future plans
The MIC will swiftly revise the ministerial ordinance based on the results of the appeal for opinions and the report from the Radio Regulatory Council.
