Decision of Candidate Trustees related to FY2012 “Project to Promote ICT Town Development”

  The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) decided the candidate trustees with regard to proposals on the FY2012 “Project to Promote ICT Town Development” based on evaluations made by external experts, and it is officially announced herein.

1.Outline of project

  An experimental project for verifying new town development utilizing ICT will be carried out on a commission basis to realize an “ICT Smart Town” advance model shown in a report from the “Commission on ICT Town Development and Global Expansion” (officially announced in July 2012).
 

2.Content of decision

  (1) Candidate trustees
  A public appeal for proposals was held from September 6 (Thu) to October 9 (Tue), 2012. In response, 55 proposals were submitted. The following five projects were selected as candidate trustees based on the evaluation results at the ICT Smart Town Project Conference.

5 Daiwa Computer Co., Ltd., Fukuroi City, Keio University and Kanagawa Institute of Technology Project to construct commerce infrastructure for sextic industry equipped with the function of providing relief supplies in times of disaster Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture

 
  (2) Although the following two projects were not selected as candidate trustees, the list of proposers is officially announced due to excellent content of proposals.
