Approval of Service to Provide Cable Television Broadcasters with Broadcasting Programs of Television International Broadcasting for Foreigners Simultaneously with Broadcasting

Approval of service provided in Article 20, Paragraph 2, Item (viii) of the Broadcast Act of NHK
  The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) submitted an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chairman: Tadaaki Maeda, Advisor to Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.) concerning the approval of service in Article 20, Paragraph 2, Item (viii) applied by Japan Broadcasting Corporation (Chairman: Masayuki Matsumoto, hereinafter “NHK”) based on the provision of Article 20, Paragraph 10 of the Broadcast Act (Act No.132 of 1950). On November 28, 2012, the MIC received a report stating its approval of the inquiry from the Council.
  In response to this report, the MIC approves this matter on November 28, 2012.

  NHK submitted an application to the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications concerning the approval of service to provide cable television broadcasters with broadcasting programs of television international broadcasting for foreigners by NHK through foreign satellites such as AsiaSat simultaneously with the said broadcasting.
  The MIC will approve this matter on November 28, 2012 in response to this report.
