Appeal for Opinions on Draft Notice on Surveys on Temporary Usage of Actual Radio Spectrum concerning Broadband Mobile Wireless Access System

   The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled a draft notice in order to implement surveys on temporary usage of actual radio spectrum concerning broadband mobile wireless access system and will hold an appeal for opinions on this draft notice from December 8 (Sat), 2012 to January 7 (Mon), 2013.

1. Background and outline

     The Action Plan for Spectrum Reallocation (revised version of October 2012) stipulates that the MIC shall commit itself to expanding frequency bands in the 2.5GHz band (2625~2655MHz) with respect to the use of broadband mobile wireless access (BWA) system, the MIC decided to implement surveys on temporary usage of actual radio spectrum concerning broadband mobile wireless access system in order to contribute to deliberations on the assignment of those frequency bands. Lately the MIC compiled a draft notice prescribing allocable frequency bands, areas and other necessary matters subject to the surveys. An appeal for opinions on this draft notice will be held.

     (1) Subject of appeal for opinions Draft notice stipulating allocable frequency bands, areas and other necessary matters subject to surveys on temporary
           usage of actual radio spectrum concerning broadband mobile wireless access system
     (2) Deadline for appeal for opinions January 7 (Mon), 2013, 10:00AM (submissions by mail must arrive by this date)
     

3. Future plans

     The MIC will swiftly enact the draft notice based on opinions submitted
