
Appeal for Opinions on Partial Revision of Subject Prescribing Particulars of Regulations for Telecommunications Numbers
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is planning to change the sections of numbers for some areas in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Therefore, an appeal for opinions on a draft notice for partial revision of the subject prescribing particulars of the Regulations for Telecommunications Numbers will be held from December 12 (Wed), 2012 to January 11, 2013 (Fri).
1. Purpose of revision
The subject prescribing particulars of the Regulations for Telecommunications Numbers (Notice of MPT No.574 of 1997) will be partially revised in order to unity the sections of numbers* for Yamaguchi City (excluding former Ajisu Town and former Tokuji Town), Yamaguchi Prefecture.
*Sections which indicate the range where local calls are available. Phone calls can be made between areas belonging to the same section of number using numbers starting from local telephone codes.
2. Outline of draft revision
The sections of numbers for some areas in Yamaguchi City are changed as shown in a table of the subject prescribing particulars of the Regulations for Telecommunications Numbers. This revision makes it possible to make phone calls using numbers starting from local telephone codes, when users intend to make phone calls within the same section, in all areas of Yamaguchi City excluding former Ajisu Town and former Tokuji Town.

The MIC will partially revise the notice based on results of the appeal for opinions.
