Official Announcement of “Implementation Items for 2012 Concerning Evaluation of State of Competition in Telecommunications Business Field

  The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) held an appeal for opinions on a “Draft Implementation Items for 2012 Concerning Evaluation of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field” from October 24 to November 22, 2012. It was decided based on opinions submitted, etc.

1. Background

  The MIC officially announced the draft “Implementation Items for 2012 Concerning Evaluation of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field” (hereinafter, “Implementation Items for 2012”) on October 23, 2012, and held an appeal for opinions by November 22, 2012. In response, ten opinions were submitted.
  The “Implementation Items for 2012” was decided now based on the results of this appeal for opinions, and it is officially announced herein.
  

2. Outline, etc.

  The appendixes and annex will be posted in the column of “press release” on the MIC website (http://www.soumu.go.jp) and the column of “public comments” on the e-government portal (e-Gov) (http://www.e-gov.go.jp) and also distributed for reading at the Telecommunications Policy Division, Telecommunications Business Department, Telecommunications Bureau, MIC (Central Gov’t Building No.2 10F).
  

3. Future plans

  The MIC will carry out the evaluation of competition for FY2012 based on the content of the “Implementation Items for 2012” taking into account the decision thereof.
