State of Use of Communications in Japan in Terms of Traffic

state of use in FY 2011
  The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled an estimation of voice communications traffic data for FY2011 as reported by telecommunications carriers based on the provisions of the Rules for Reporting on Telecommunications Business (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No.46 of 1988), and it is officially announced herein.

1.Background

  The MIC requests telecommunications carriers to provide reports on the amount of traffic data related to voice communications services based on the provisions of the Rules for Reporting on Telecommunications Business.
  An estimation of voice communications traffic data for FY2011 was compiled and it is officially announced herein.
