Approval of “Addition of Programs Provided in Services for Providing General Public with Broadcasting Programs through the Internet at the Same Time as their Broadcasting to Improve Bad Reception of Radio Broadcasting of NHK” Implemented by NHK upon Approval based on Article 20, Paragraph 10 of the Radio Act

  On December 4, 2012, NHK made an application for approval of the “addition of programs provided in services for providing the general public with broadcasting programs through the Internet at the same time as their broadcasting to improve bad reception of radio broadcasting of NHK” as a service mentioned in Article 20, Paragraph 2, Item (viii) of the Radio Act (Act No.132 of 1950) pursuant to the provision of Article 20, Paragraph 10 of said Act.
  The MIC has compiled its views on this application for approval from NHK and held an appeal for opinions on these views from December 8, 2012 to January 7, 2013. The MIC submitted an inquiry on approval as applied to the Radio Regulatory Council on January 16, 2013 based on the results of the appeal for opinions, and a report stating its approval was received.
  In response to this report, the MIC will approve this case as of January 16, 2013.
