
Appeal for Opinions on Draft Report from Study Group on State of Inspections of Radio Stations Carried by Aircraft
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has held the “Study Group on State of Inspections of Radio Stations Carried by Aircraft” (Chairman: Makoto Ando, Professor, Graduate School of Science and Engineering Tokyo Institute of Technology from August 2012 in order to investigate the review of inspections of radio stations carried by aircraft and management of manufacturer’s numbers of radio equipment, including the state of systems, by giving consideration to a viewpoint of how to effectively use frequencies for aeronautical radio toward the strengthening of international competitiveness of national air carriers based on ensuring of the consistency with international standards and safety.
An appeal for opinions on a draft report from this Study Group will be widely held from January 22 (Tue) to February 12 (Tue), 2013.
1.Background
The MIC has held the “Study Group on State of Inspections of Radio Stations Carried by Aircraft” (hereinafter “Study Group”) from August 11, 2012 in order to investigate the review of inspections of radio stations carried by aircraft and management of manufacturer’s numbers of radio equipment, including the state of systems, by giving consideration to a viewpoint of how to effectively use frequencies for aeronautical radio toward the strengthening of international competitiveness of national air carriers based on ensuring of the consistency with international standards and safety.
A draft report was compiled by the Study Group. Therefore, an appeal for opinions on this “Draft Report from the Study Group on State of Inspections of Radio Stations Carried by Aircraft” will be held.
