
Events Related to “Information Security Month” to be Held
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold events related to the “Information Security Month” contributing to the promotion of information security countermeasures in the period including before and after the “Information Security Awareness Month” in February.
1.Outline
The government has set every February as “Information Security Month” from FY2009 in order to strengthen awareness on information security and held various events in a focused manner concerning information security so that the people can deepen their interests in and understanding of information security.
The MIC, with the Regional Bureau of Telecommunications as the central figure, will hold events contributing to the promotion of information security countermeasures all over the country in the period including before and after the “Information Security Month” based on said purpose.

2.Events to be held
(1) Talk event
Each Regional Bureau of Telecommunications (including Okinawa Office of Telecommunications), the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology and related organizations take the lead in holding talk events concerning the latest trends in information security all over the country.
(2) e-Net safety course (e-Net caravan)
Courses for raising awareness toward the safe and secure use of the Internet will be held mainly for parents and teachers with a view to protect children from troubles related to the Internet.
