Results of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Ministerial Ordinance for Partial Revision of Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act and Rules for Reporting on Telecommunications Business
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) held an appeal for opinions on a draft ministerial ordinance for partial revision of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 25 of 1985) and the Rules for Reporting on Telecommunications Business (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 46 of 1988) from December 21, 2012 to January 21 (Mon), 2013.
As a result, four opinions were submitted and those opinions submitted and the MIC’s views thereon were compiled. They are officially announced herein.
1.Outline of revision
The outline of the draft revision is as follows.
(1) Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act
Format 4 will be revised to change the classification of services related to Internet connection service, etc. for mobile phones and PHS terminals and to add new services such as satellite mobile communication service.
(2) Rules for Reporting on Telecommunications Business
The definition of Article 1 and Formats 1~8 and 11~13 will be revised and necessary provisions will be improved in order to grasp the number of contracts corresponding to the changes of current market environments.
2.Results
An appeal for opinions was held from December 21 (Fri), 2012 to January 21 (Mon), 2013, and four opinions were submitted in response.
3.Future plans
The MIC will swiftly revise the Regulations for Enforcement of the Telecommunications Business Act and the Rules for Reporting on Telecommunications Business based on the results of the appeal for opinions.
