Appeal for Opinions on Draft Report from “Study Group on State of Metal Line Costs”

  The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has held the “Study Group on State of Metal Line Costs” (Chairman: Mikio Tokai, Professor of School of Business, Aoyama Gakuin University) from November 2012. An appeal for opinions on a draft report compiled by the Study Group will be held from March 16 (Sat) to April 12 (Fri), 2013.

1.Background

  The MIC has held the “Study Group on State of Metal Line Costs” from November 2012 in order to verify costs toward further optimization of state of calculation of interconnection charges for metal lines provided by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation.
  A draft report and reference materials were compiled based on the results of deliberations at the Study Group, and an appeal for opinions thereon will be held.
   

2.Guidelines for appeal for opinions

  Subject: Draft report from the “Study Group on State of Metal Line Costs” Deadline: April 12 (Fri), 2013, 5:00PM (submission by mail must also arrive by this date)
  This draft report will be posted as soon as we are ready, in the column of “public comments” on the e-government portal (e-Gov) (http://www.e-gov.go.jp) and also distributed for reading at the Tariff and Telecommunications Access Policy Division, Telecommunications Business Department, Telecommunications Bureau, MIC.
   

3.Schedule

  The fifth Study Group will be held in May 2013 in order to compile a report based on opinions submitted in response to this draft report.
