Starting May 1,
2003, the process
for international
dialing will be standardized
to the dialing of
010 for access. The
process for international
dialing using 010
for access was introduced
on May 1, 2001 when
the "My Line"
system was introduced,
but in order to avoid
confusion among users,
the old system remained
in use for two years,
until the end of this
month.
Until April 30:
(Parallel Use of
New and Old Process)
Old Process: Operator's
individual access
number + Country
code + Domestic
number of callee
New Process: (Operator's
individual access
number) 1
+ 010 + Country code
+ Domestic number
of callee
From May 12
Only New process:
(Operator's individual
access number) 1
+ 010 + Country code
+ Domestic number
of callee
Notes
1. Operator's individual
access number (00XX)
can be abbreviated
in the case of registration
with My Line, My Line
Plus or the like
2. From May 1, if
one uses the old dialing
process, normally
each telecommunications
carrier will play
a recorded message
with information on
the new dialing process.
