The second Japan-China-Korea ICT Ministerial Meeting was held
with the participation of KATAYAMA Toranosuke, MPHPT Minister, WANG
XUDONG, Chinese Minister of Information Industry, and CHIN DAE-JE,
Korean Minister of Information and Communication.
At the meeting, it was acknowledged that ICT forms an indispensable
base for development and mutual deepening of ties in Asia, and that
cooperation between the three countries is vital to speed up the
development of broadband throughout Asia. As the result of a direct
and broad-based exchange of ideas about development in the region
through promoting greater cooperation between the three countries
of Japan, China and Korea in the field of info-communications, agreement
was reached to promote cooperation in seven areas including 3G and
next generation mobile communications (G4), next generation Internet
(IPv6), and information security, and an agreement was signed.
