MPHPT starts electronic payment for spectrum user fees, using financial institutions' Internet banking



The MPHPT is diversifying payment methods for spectrum user fees, adding to the current payment methods (teller windows, bank transfers) by starting the electronic payment (a method that uses financial institutions' Internet banking) from January 19, 2004 though Multi-Payment Network*(data communications system).

*The Multi-Payment Network was set up and is operated by the Japan Multi-Payment Network Management Organization (chairman, SUZUKI Osamu, Mizuho Bank, and vice deputy chairman, MURATA Ryuichi, Tokyo Mitsubishi Bank et al.).

The purpose of this organization is to facilitate for users payment of all types of fees and charges such as treasury funds, local taxes, and utilities, and also to increase the efficiency of the financial institutions and agencies that receive these payments. The Multi-Payment Network was set up and is operated as a new approach to the settlement concerning public interests, and works towards its greater penetration.
