MPHPT invites comments on draft plan for IMT-2000 frequency assignment in the 800MHzMega hertz frequency band

Background:
The MPHPT has taken into consideration the May 2004 report from the Information and Communications Council on measures for enhancement of third generation mobile communications systems (IMT-2000). The MPHPT therefore submitted an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council on partial draft amendments of the Rules for Regulating Radio Equipment and the Frequency Assignment Plan, in order to prepare the necessary regulations for the reorganization of 800MHzMega hertz band frequencies that will newly assign the 815-850/860-895MHzMega hertz frequencies to IMT-2000, and will determine a usage limit period concerning mobile phone frequencies and airport radio frequencies based on previously arrangement in the 800MHzMega hertz band.

The MPHPT has recently prepared a draft plan for the assignment of IMT-2000 frequencies in the 800MHzMega hertz frequency band, that are newly being assigned for IMT-2000 in this draft ministerial ordinance, and is now announcing this.

The MPHPT invites comments from the public concerning this draft plan from August 6 until September 6.
