The Information and Communications Council received on October 19, an inquiry from the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications concerning a draft amendment of tariffs concerning interconnection to category 1 designated telecommunications facilities of NTT East and NTT West (revision of interconnection charges for the optical signal branch subscriber line used to provide the shared access system).
This is the amendment of interconnection tariffs, based on article 33-2 of the Telecommunications Business Law, concerning the regulation relating to addition of points of interconnection on the facilities used to provide the shared access system, the revision of interconnection charges for the optical signal branch subscriber line, and the addition of information gathering fees for optically wired areas.
The council is inviting comments, in Japanese, concerning the draft amendment of interconnection tariffs until November 17, and, taking the comments into consideration in conducting its investigation, and will submit a report for the Minister.
