The MIC submitted today an inquiry to the Radio Regulatory Council (chaired by Prof. YASUDA Yasuhiko, Waseda University) concerning the request submitted by Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) (President HASHIMOTO Genichi) for approval of the amendment in the articles of incorporation, based on regulations in article 11-2 of the Broadcast Law (Law No.132 of 1950), and received a report stating that granting approval as per the inquiry was appropriate.
Approval concerning this matter will be granted today.
The outline of this matter is as follows:
1. Amendment contents
Within the committees made up of advisors, councilors or people of learning and experience, that are supposed to set up when the NHK's president deems it necessary for an inquiry concerning the execution of business, the advisors and councilors will be eliminated.
2. Implementation Period
Effective from April 1, 2005
