Attestation of "Establishment Plans of the Specified Base Stations" of NTT DoCoMo Group Carriers Using 1.7 GHzgigahertz Band in Kanto, Tokai and Kinki Areas

On March 15, 2006, MIC inquired of the Radio Regulatory Council (Chair: Prof. HATORI Mitsutoshi, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Chuo University) about "applications for attestation of establishment plans of the specified base stations using 1.7 GHzgigahertz band in Kanto, Tokai and Kinki Areas" filed with by NTT DoCoMo, Inc., NTT DoCoMo Tokai, Inc. and NTT DoCoMo Kansai, Inc. The Council on the same day submitted a report to MIC stating that it is appropriate to attest to the applications as inquired. Upon receipt of the report, MIC will attest to those establishment plans. MIC had been considering the appropriate and effective use of 1.7 GHzgigahertz and 2 GHzgigahertz bands to become available for cellular telephone services. After such deliberations, on August 11, 2005, MIC ruled on the "Establishment Guidelines for the Specified Base Stations" using 1.7 GHzgigahertz or 2 GHzgigahertz bands (MIC Notice No. 883 of 2005) etc.
In line with the "Guidelines," MIC invited "Applications for attestation of establishment plans of the specified base stations using 1.7 GHzgigahertz band in Kanto, Tokai and Kinki Areas" during the period that began on January 27 and ended as February 27, 2006. During said period, MIC received applications for attestation from NTT DoCoMo, Inc., NTT DoCoMo Tokai, Inc. and NTT DoCoMo Kansai, Inc.
MIC will, paying due respect to the report, attest to the plans filed by the three NTT DoCoMo group companies and deliver the certificates of attestation to them after April 1, 2006, when such frequencies become assignable.
