Emitting Radio Waves
-- Results of Public Comments on Draft MIC Ordinance, Etc. to Amend
"Regulations for the Enforcement of the Radio Law" --

In order to amend part of the conditions for designating types of electrodeless discharge lamps, industrial facilities emitting radio waves, during the period from January 30 through March 2, 2006, MIC invited public comments on a draft "MIC Ordinance to Amend Part of the Regulations for the Enforcement of the Radio Law" and relevant MIC Notices. During said period, MIC did not receive any public comment thereon.
MIC will, taking into consideration the results of public comment procedures, amend part of the "Regulations for the Enforcement of the Radio Law" and make relevant MIC Notices effective, without delay.

[Background to these amendments]
On October 31, 2005, MIC received a partial report from the Information and Communications Council concerning the "Limits and Methods of Measurement of Radio Disturbance Characteristics of Electrical Lighting and Similar Equipment." This partial report was compiled in response to Inquiry No. 3 on various regulations of the "International Special Committee on Radio Interference (CISPR)." This time, MIC will amend the relevant ordinance, etc. for avoiding possible causes of radio disturbances. Through these amendments, MIC will add limits and methods of measurement to the conditions for designating types of industrial facilities emitting radio waves within the frequency range between 10 kHzkirohertz and 150 kHzkirohertz.
