Methods for Testing Characteristics of Specified Radio Facilities to Be Amended
-- Public Comments to Be Invited on Draft MIC Notice to Amend Part of "MIC Notice for 'Methods for Testing Characteristics of Specified Radio Facilities'" --

MIC has developed a draft MIC Notice to Amend Part of "MIC Notice No. 88 of 2004 for 'Methods for Testing Characteristics of Specified Radio Facilities.'"
Thus, MIC invites public comments on the draft MIC Notice until May 22, 2006.
In line with amendments to the "Rules for Regulating Radio Equipment (Radio Regulatory Commission Rules No. 18 of 1950)" and the "Ordinance Concerning Technical Regulations Conformity Certification, Etc. of Specified Radio Equipment (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 37 of 1981: hereinafter referred to as the "Ordinance for Certification")," specified radio equipment under Article 2 paragraph (1) of the "Ordinance for Certification" was changed. Accordingly, pursuant to the provisions of Annex 1-1 (3) of the "Ordinance for Certification," MIC is to amend part of "MIC Notice No. 88 of 2004 for 'Methods for Testing Characteristics of Specified Radio Facilities.'"
Through those rulemakings, low power radio stations, W-CDMA base stations, CDMA-2000 base stations, mobile stations for W-CDMA or CDMA-2000, etc. will be added to the category of specified radio equipment.
Those wishing to submit comments thereon, please fill out the official form using the Japanese language and send it to MIC.
MIC will, taking into consideration those comments to be sent, promulgate the MIC Notice and make it effective without delay.
