Public Comments to Be Invited on Draft MIC Notice to Amend Part of MPT Notice for Specifying Form, Etc. of Vouchers to Be Affixed to Simple Radio Stations
-- Making Size of Vouchers Smaller --

In order to make smaller the size of voucher forms, which are affixed to simple radio stations, MIC developed a draft MIC Notice to amend part of "MPT Notice No. 76 of 1994 (for specifying form, etc. of vouchers to be issued by the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications or Directors-General of Regional Telecommunications Bureaus (including Director-General of Okinawa Office of Posts and Telecommunications))".
Thus, MIC invites public comments thereon until November 15, 2006.
Those wishing to submit comments to MIC, please fill out the official form using the Japanese language, and send them to MIC no later than November 15, 2006.
MIC will, taking into account public comments to be sent to MIC, amend the MPT Notice without delay.
[Background]
Although simple radio stations share frequencies to be used, many users can utilize such simple radio stations for various purposes and these stations do not require radio operators. Thanks to such advantages, about 650,000 stations are being used on a nationwide basis.
In recent years, along with the development in radio communications technologies, there are deliberations upon digitalization and miniaturization of simple radio stations like cellular telephones, etc. However, the size of voucher forms pursuant to paragraph (1) item iii3) of MPT Notice No. 76 of 1994 (for specifying form, etc. of vouchers to be issued by the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications or Directors-General of Regional Telecommunications Bureaus (including Director-General of Okinawa Office of Posts and Telecommunications)) would face a difficulty to be affixed to radio equipment. Thus, MIC drafted the MIC Notice to amend part of MPT Notice No. 76 for the purpose of making the size of voucher forms smaller.
