Release of Report Compiled by the Committee to Promote Research on the Possible Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields

Since FY1997, MIC has held meetings of its Committee to Promote Research on the Possible Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields (Chairman: UENO Shogo, Special Guest Professor, Kyushu University), and has conducted studies and research for evaluating the biological safety of radio waves. The committee has now finished compiling its research findings from the past 10 years, and MIC hereby releases the report to the public.

1. Purpose of the Committee to Promote Research on the Possible Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields
MIC set up the Committee to Promote Research on the Possible Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields in 1997 to promote scientific analysis and evaluation of the effects radio waves have on the human body.

2. Background
Since 1997, the Committee to Promote Research on the Possible Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields has conducted research for evaluation of biological safety based on animal experiments, epidemiologic investigations, etc.
The Committee has now compiled its report, based on the summary report at the final meeting held on March 26 of this year.
