MIC today issued a notification of registration for Kagoshima Hikari Television Co., Inc. (President: KAMURA Koyata) to broadcast on telecommunications services following the registration of an application submitted by the company pursuant to the Law concerning Broadcast on Telecommunications Services on April 24. This registration makes the total number of broadcasters on telecommunications services (wire telecommunications services) 18.
Kagoshima Hikari Television launches its service as a broadcaster on telecommunications services (wire telecommunications services) on May 1, 2007, as the business was transferred to the company from Kagoshima Cable Television KK, which is currently providing cable television broadcasting service in part of Kagoshima City.
With this registration, Kagoshima Hikari Television will be able to provide multi-channel service by using the telecommunications services provided by Kyushu Telecommunication Network Co., Inc. and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation, and is expected to play the role of a key local information media.
