FY2007 Internet Security Campaign-"Your Participation Changes the Internet"

Starting today, MIC launches its FY2007 Internet Security Campaign-Your Participation Changes the Internet, an event to raise public awareness of information security.

As part of this campaign, MIC is launching a special website where the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications will present letters of commendation to all those who have demonstrated correct knowledge of the three basic principles of information security. Additionally, MIC provides useful and interesting content on its General Information Security Portal Site.

1. Outline
For safe and secure use of the Internet, it is indispensable for every single user to acquire accurate knowledge on information security and measures to be taken. The FY2007 Internet Security Campaign under the slogan of "Your Participation Changes the Internet" aims at informing general users of the proper information security knowledge and measures so that they can use the Internet safely and securely.

Once a virus infects your computer, you may unknowingly cause others tremendous inconvenience, not to mention the trouble you may suffer. MIC therefore aims to deliver the message that every user is a key player in implementing information security measures, and that definite preventive measures taken by everyone will contribute to enhanced security of the entire Internet.

MIC is launching various activities to promote the participation of everyone in this campaign. In addition to MIC Minister Kan presenting letters of commendation to all those who have demonstrated correct knowledge of the three basic principles of information security, MIC has opened its General Information Security Portal Site, where users, both children and adults, can enjoy learning about information security and view interesting content and activities to use for their information security measures. (For details, please see the attached PDF file.)
